Is this Legal or not

(Querist) 06 July 2011 This query is : Resolved
Can a employee of a company start his own company while working and become a director of his Pvt. ltd company...
Guest (Expert) 06 July 2011
It depends upon the employees conduct rules of the company where he is employed. However, if the copmpany opened by the employee does not harm the business interests of his employee company and his own efficiency in the company where employed, there should be no objection to opening a copmay and becoming director of that company.

My question is straight, is this legal or illegal. Should this person quit his firm to work with the current employer.

"Can a employee of a company start his own company while working and become a director of his Pvt. ltd company..."

It is not objectionable if employer/s decide it is ok. Then it is legal for both in private companies or firms. But their are good chances that it becomes a bad issue for both cos.
I suggest once he/she worked to open pvt. ltd. company he or she should quit job as an employee of other firm or company.
Issue is not only earning money from two sources.
Yes it is legal but is it ok is different issue as per me. Leave it let it go.
Regards.
