Itr info through rti

Dear sirs/ madam,

I want to know if one can get copies of ITR or information on income or tax paid by another individual (eg for spouse) through RTI or any other source.

No, it is their personal information, if need the details then you need to get either by your auditor or some person who are femilier in the department

no income tax authorities will refuse to disclose her income tax retruns . it is her personal information

IN certain conditions this information can be disclosed by the Income Tax Department.

Like CIC has allowed the disclosure for dowry cases.

Court have power to summon I.T.Record.

Yes, if you have definite information in your posession, or a copy of the ITR, you may request the Court to summon records of Income-tax to prove the genuineness of the information in your possession. Please take care that you have definite and authentic information otherwise such records produced may prove detrimental to your interests and go against you.
