dear sir, my client resides at bilaspur c.g and accused at Gaya Bihar. the forged LIC policy also belongs to Gaya and also executed at Gaya but complainant had transferred the amount of premium in many installments through his bank acc at Bilaspur to the accused's bank acc at Gaya. now the complaint of sec 406 IPC can be filed at Bilaspur, if yes, so is there any citation similar to this. plz help.

It is maintainable in Bilaspur.

If the issue is forgery of the policy document and amount was also transferred from Gaya then only Gaya police has got jurisdiction to initiate action against the accused may be sitting in Bilaspur. Section 177 clearly establishes that every offence shall ordinary be inquired into and tried by a court within whose local jurisdiction it was committed.
