Bye laws of the housing society provide for the manner in which a Member shall enjoy his flat. Bye law 50(a) of the Housing Societies Model Bye laws in force in Maharashtra provides that "No Member shall do or suffer anything to be done in his flat which may cause nuisance, annoyance or inconvenience to any of the Members of the Society....." If similar provision is contained in your Society's bye laws, action can be taken by the MC on complaints lodged by any Member against the Member who is keeping the dog in his flat but only if he establishes that the dog has become a nuisance to him and other neighbors.

As per my knowledge, the keeping of dogs in apartment flats is prohibited in Tamil Nadu.
