Recently we came to know about some land that is on name of my father's grand father. He is no more now. That land is agricultural land in Bihar. We are not using that land for any purpose and other people are cultivating it. Can we register this land on our name as it belong to my father's grand father? Please help.

Check whether his name is there in BLRO record.
If not then apply for inclusion of your names as his legal heirs.
Do not let them cultivate your land. Try to exert your right.
File a suit for declaration and injunction if they refuses to vacate the land.

You being LRs ( Legal Heirs) of your father's grand father, file an application before the Revenue Authorities, praying to include your names in the government records.

Thanks for reply. We have khatiyan record where it says some 2 beegha land is on my father's grand-father name. Unfortunately, My father or grand-father no one ever bothered about the land. Recently we came to know about Khatiyan record of land.
It seems they registered the land on their name illegally. How can we get back the land on our name? We have to fight case against them? Please help.

Land laws are different in each state,you might need to file a suit for correction of revenue records.Much better would be to consult a revenue lawyer in the district land is.
