Property was subject matter of dispute over ownership in court. Meanwhile municipal authorities formed a road inbetween the property cutting into two half pieces. Now case is decided and the decree holder has approached the municipal office for compensation for land aquired. The officials are asking when was it aquired or when n to whom was the contract for road laying done. There is no record to show about all this with the decree holder. But road is formed for everyone to see. Should the compensation be persued and how. Kindly help

Municipal authorities would not lay the road without first the land for laying it is surrendered to them by the owner by executing the requisite transfer deed and registering it in their favor.

If the Municipal authorities deny to have laid the road on your property, you can occupy the property, secure it by putting fence around the property, let the Municipality challenge your act then you can ask for compensation if the property was acquired by municipality. Consult a lawyer to draw the action plan.

The response of the Officials of the Municipality clearly show that they did not lay the road. Hence ignore the road and follow the advice given by Mr. Kalaiselvan.
