Land dispute case

Sir,
A person has filed 2 cases,one in collectors
court and the second in district civil court
for the same matter.I want to know that is it permissible to file 2 cases for the same matter in different courts ?
Please advice.

in respect of same cause of action you cant file 2 suits . what are the reliefs claimed in the 2 suits .

All the documents need to be seen. generally two cases are not maintainable for same cause of action claiming same relief.
