Hi Sir,
I have one small doubt regarding surplus land registration. What are the possibilities of surplus land registration.
I have seen in one of the sub-registration office that they are taking bribe and doing Surplus land registrations. Please advise.

It is very suprising to read that all experts are terming the surplus land theory as of a foreign matter.
According to Ceiling and land Holding Act, 1972, any citizen of India was restricted to hold just 18 Standard Acre of land in his name and all excess land was compulsorily taken over by State without any compensation. Such land was called as surplus land. In many States, such land was allotted to many landless people on very meagre amount and in many places, such land though taken over by States in their name in revenue record but its actual possession continued with the original owners.
Now querist wants our help to know whether such land can be got sold or not and my definite reply is no. As the State is its owner, its sale-purchase by the unauthorized person is illegal and a criminal act.
