LAPTOP THEFT

THERE HAS BEEN A LAPTOP THEFT FROM HOUSE TODAY MORNING AT 8.A.M. AND I DO NOT HAVE THE PAPERS REGARDING THE LAPTOP PURCHASED AS IT WAS BEEN GIFTED, SO KINDLY LET ME KNOW WHAT ALL STEPS TO BE TAKEN REGARDING THIS. APART FROM LODGING THE COMPLAINT OF THEFT IN THE POLICE STATION, WHAT ALL STEPS SHOULD BE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY.

Except for a police complaint there is not much which can be done since the item is small and portable it is difficult to detect and recover such items. However if you have an insurance cover for the laptop then approach the insurance company with a claim.

sorry buddy, at the most u can lodge a complaint with the police, however they will make a DDR entry only.

laptops dont carry any IEMI no. so it will be difficult to find out.

rightly advised by Mr. Vihal that if u ve any insurance cover then make a claim over there.

without any proof u cnt do anything, if u knows any police just request him to do your favour to find the lost laptop.

Mr Anonymous u have to lodged a non cognizable report to the police station under section 155 of Cr.P.C. so that the same may not be misused in any respect.
