what you talk of FB citation on succession act amendment of 2005 - what is the issue in that act u need to specify .

As per Amendment 2005 a daughter can claim even ancestral property (latest) for this both daughter and father should have been alive after 2005. If not she can't. But a daughter or her legal heirs can claim self acquired property of her father even if both were not alive in 2005.
