Latest orders regarding theft of vehicle

Sir,
I Had Purchased a vehicle and had got it transferred in my name at the RTO.The Insurance somehow was not transferred and the vehicle got stolen.
Please suggest a suitable order as the Insurance company is not ready to settle the claim as the policy was not transferred in my name.

When you have purchased the vehicle after getting the transfer of vehicle with RTO authorities you are required to inform the Insurance company by paying nominal fees of Rs.50/- but if vehicle got stolen & insurance company is denying it liability then you can knock door of Civil Court for recovery of amount with costs

You are entitiled to inaurance claim though the policy was yet to be transferred in your name. For case law please read Delhi state Consumer Forum decision in National Insurance Co. v Promod Kumar 2006(11) CCC 151.

rightly said by mr. thukral, file a case before the consumer forum.
insurance co. will have to compensate the claim.
