Respected Sir,
This has reference to use of bond paper for Lease Agreement.
Our company would like to sign Lease Agreement for Agricultural land for specific period with the landlord with retrospective effect i.e. from 1st Aug. 2010. The terms of agreement has just been finalised and the lessor has agreed to sign the agreement w.e.f. 1st Aug.09, but made and executed on today's date.
We shall be extremely grateful if you could kindly guide me whether the lease agreement can be made and executed today for retrospective effective from 1st Aug. 2010.

Yes. Lease-agreement/deed may cover the period of past also. It may contain specific mention of the fact that this lease has started with effect from 1st Aug 2009 but no formal deed was registered at that time and now this written deed is being executed which shall be effective from 01st Aug 2009.

Yes Mr. Raj Kr. Makkad is absolutely right as the lease agreement can be made and executed of the restospective dates which shall mentioned the contents of agreement previously made.
