Legal heircertificate/ family certificate

Hi,
Grettings from side for all the eperts!!

I have the following queries.

1.Please clarify me the difference between a Legal Heir Certifiacte and Family memebers certifiate?.
2. Does the Family certificate/Legal Heir Certificate should contain details of all the memebrs? Can I apply for the same by excluding the other memebrs of the family?
3. We are 6 chlidrens to our father, 2 sons& 4 daughters. we have a house which is the ancestral and we want to mutate the same to our names( Jointly for the sons only). Muncipal authorities are asking for legal heir/Family certificate for the same. Please suggest me to proceed further.
