if the grandfather alive or not ? if not alive the get legal heir certificate and transfer into your father name.

You should contact the patwari of the concerned village in which the property situates, with an affidavit stating all the legal heirs of your grandfather and date of death, supporting with death certificate of your Grand father, the affidavit shall be attested by the Executive magistrate of the area, hand over the affidavit to the patwari of village, he will insert the name of all the legal heirs of deceased in the current revenue record.

First ensure whether mutation is applicable in Patta land.
