Generally,Twelve years from the date of cause of action.
Rohtash Babu Patel (Expert) 19 November 2011
For Decleration limitation is 3 years for date of cause of action , Article 58 limitation Act
prabhakar singh (Expert) 19 November 2011
Although one can not deny what Mr. Rohtash Babu Patel has answered but still if it would be an immovable property for all practical purposes any lawyer would be able to so frame the suit that limitation gets extended to 12 years.

The scheme of limitation on general footing is so designed broadly that for contractual matters or of those similar to that kind limitation is 03 years.

With regard to immovable it is 12 years.

In tortuous matters it is 01 year only.

Isn't it sufficient if any one of us tells that this qn is INCOMPLETE instead of answering "details please';'blindly we cannot..';'Genrally 12 yrs..';'with regard to this property...this & with...this'
I humbly say WHY an expert should reply HYPOTHETICALLY or IN THE AIR ????????
a.manoharan (Expert) 19 November 2011
if not anything mentioned in Limitation act , the declaration for any kind of suit s only 3 years not 12 years
