Loss of rs. 20 k through atm

Hello to all experts and thanx for your advises which i get most of the time,
wife goes to atm of the ICICI bank in which she's having account he enter her pin and all of sudden machine hung up she waited few mts nothing happened then she tried other machine which was there next to the faulty machine took out 1 thousand and receipt in which withdrawn money ie 1K was debited so far so good, after some time on the same day she came to know that 20K got debited from her A/c.
After complaining to concerned bank Wife came to know that bank not having cctv footage of outside camera but got pics which shows a boy came after her when machine started working who has taken out money when faulty machine asked to enter amount not pin which was already entered by wife which he has done easily and got 20k and now bank says that pin remains active only for 30 seconds and as per wife she stood there for more than 30 seconds.
As per my knowledge i think she should send legal Notice with minimum time given for 15 days and then move to Consumer Forum.
What else can be done, kindly suggest.:)

yes , do send them notice and ask for return of money. If they reuses to do so then file consumer forum.

According to my knowledge, no ATM will allow more than Rs.10000/-. How could he draw Rs.20k?

You may send notice and file complaint with consumer forum.

after notice, author may exhaust the relief available through the Banking Ombudsman and if the grievances have not been addressed there also, concerned consume forum may be approached.
