if the child is unmarried daughter, she is entitled.

Both wives can claim maintenance allowance but it shall is 1/3 of the salary of husband or less is not definite. It depends over various factors.

so far as unmarried major student son's claim for the maintenance is concerned, it is totally legal as defined by Punjab & Haryana High Court in the matter title Nikhil Kumar Singh versus Ramesh Kumar Mahajan 2008 (2) RCR (Criminal) 340
