Marriage registration in delhi

(Querist) 24 March 2015 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

I am filling online registration form for marriage registration in delhi. I want to know the following:
1. Whether application form should be filled with maiden name of my wife or with changed surname? (proof are in maiden name, however want changed name in marriage certificate)
2. Affidavit should be in which name, maiden or post marriage?

Whether someone has faced this issue?

1. WHATEVER YOUR WIFE LIKES.
2.SAME AS ABOVE.

1. As you both wish. You are required to submit the proof of your wife's name which is naturally with maiden surname. This is necessary in both the cases - either you both wish to change or retain her maiden name.
2. Affidavit can be in the post marriage name and with a mention of maiden surname before marriage.

We want to change the name, and want post marriage name in registration certificate as well. So what should I fill in application, maiden or post marriage? Her all proof r in maiden name only.
SAINATH DEVALLA (Expert) 24 March 2015
Enter post marriage surname in the application and also submit an affidavit regarding her original surname

Confused with different replies. Have someone gone through this process? I do not want that they reject my application or give certificate in maiden name.

It appears you do not have trust in the advice of experts. What confusion anybody created? They will not reject your application. They will also suggest the steps to be taken if consulted in advance.
Arun Singh (Querist) 24 March 2015
Confusion here is that one expert is saying write maiden or other one is saying write post marriage surname?
Sainath ji saying for post marriage while ajay ji saying for maiden name in application.
ajay sethi (Expert) 24 March 2015
it is your case that all documents of girl is in her maiden name . hence suggested writing her maiden name . Documentary evidence of date of birth of parties (Matriculation Certificate / Passport / Birth Certificate)are required for marriage registration of both parties
Arun Singh (Querist) 24 March 2015
Thanks ajay ji, so I will write maiden name in application, as all the documents are in maiden name only.
On affidavit, I will write post marriage surname (also will write maiden name).
I believe after all these, they can issue the registration certificate with post marriage name.
Thanks to all the experts..

You should mention maiden name. If option permits / available, mention name after marriage. In affidavit mention married name also.

Well advised by experts, you may choose what to be done next. Please avail your prudence also while facing such situations.
