Maternity leave

Dear sir ,
I am recently on 17th April joining Odisha police and I am doubt to i can be pregnant. If the result is become positive can i maternity leave for misarrange. Or they have rights to terminate me.

Now you are not pregnant. If so, you shall apply for leave and the leave will be sanctioned either on pay or without pay. And the probation period will be extended. But you will not be terminated for maternity leave.

I further add that being on leave is no ground for extension of probation.

An employee can be stopped from joining during in case the joining entails training requiring physical activity which is there in case of police.

You are saying that you are unmarried and how pregnant? At a time you state full facts, when did you join and in which department and state Govt, etc. But you are saying in a piecemeal and not easy to understand.

As I say my fiance and me intimate .so I doubt about my pregnancy and I joined in police department in April .So I worried about it .and this not time pass .I only want to know if I become pregnant on next month is the department will have right to terminate me or they will call me after medically fit.I thought that there is no law in India termination against pregnancy.is it right.

your deptt cannot terminate you. You can be called upon to complete training later.

However if having pregnancy (while in service ) without marriage the department may take it as moral misconduct.

If she become pregnant I will merry her immediately and why should it moral misconduct. It is legal in india that the unmarried woman also birth the child.

Living with an adult person and getting pregnant is not an offence in India. Such a relationship is recognised in India as live in relationship which is akin to marriage if the relationship continues for a considerable period of time and both the persons live in the way married couples live.
