Maternity Leave and provision of maternity act in adoption

Dear Experts, please let me know whether the leave taken by the employee for adoption of baby for 3 three months granted by the company policy same as maternity leave can be considered and treated under the category of maternity leave under the maternity act. ?

As per Govt. circular 13018/ 4/2004 Estt(L) dated 31-3-2006 the female Govt. employees adopting a child below the age of one year are eligible for 135 days leave with all benefits. But there are no similar provisions in the MB Act which is applicable to private establishment.
