The divorce case is a different subject to that of the defamation case.
You can very well proceed with filing both the cases simultaneously in two differnt courts, however for defamation case you need to have proper ingredients otherwise it may not be entertained by court.
Besides, you cannot prevent her from filing false 498a case against you if she decides to take revenge on you
