A widow who had been diagnosed with mental illness and under treatment was fooled by her sister and niece into selling her house and buying a land near the niece's place, jointly with the niece. The widow, afraid to live alone after her husband's death had moved to her niece's home to live with her. The widow had no children. Eventually the widow committed suicide. The niece will not disclose any details of this property or the circumstances leading to the suicide. Is the niece acquiring the land this way questionable by any law. Many relatives doubt foul play in the widow's death.

A complaint can be got made to SSP of that district if any foul play is smelt in the death of that lady and so far as relation of the property is concerned, the relevant documents are required to be seen first before establishing a concrete opinion. so better to avail the services of a local lawyer.

The sale is void as the sell was done under fraud and misrepresentation.
File a civil suit for declaration of the deed as null and void.
The case for abetment of suicide can also be initiated,

How are you related to the deceased?
Are you convinced that niece has killed her?
To whom do you wish that niece should disclose details of property when there is no legal heir?
If niece has malafide intention and capable to fool her then why she purchased property in joint name why not in her exclusive name?
When mentally sick, childless, old widow was afraid to live alone did any other relative come to her rescue?
Any relative offered her food and shelter, even on consideration of getting property?
