what are miscellaneous appeals?

normally it is an appeal against a decreetal order. e.g Order 9 rule 13, order 39 rule 1 & 2, 4 of C.P.C. etc. It is just like appeal. but the main proceedings may or may not have been pending in relation there too. It is a Civil Miscellaneous appeal

Expert : S.GANESAN.LAWYER is right.An appeal which is not a regular one arising out of a final decree is called miscellaneous appeal.

Just understand it as indexing of cases in adopting a system of record keeping.Simply it is a matter of nomenclature and you may come across following names of appeal /or/cases:
