Good Morning,
My father in law is missing from 28 jan’ 2014. He has some land in his village. What is the law in missing case and How to change name of my brother in law or mother in law in Khatoni in place of father in law.
Please guide to me.

have you filed police complaint that your father in law is missing . merely because he is missing for 3 months you cant delete his name in property papers .

it is only if person is missing for 7 years is he presumed dead

Insert newspaper ads.
Keep the record with you.
After 7 years missing person would be presumed dead.

He can be presumed dead only after 7 years from the date of missing. How property can be sold without his consent before it?

Think about distribution of land amongst the legal heirs of the missing person only after January 27, 2021, when you can consider him legally dead person.
