My land in coimbatore

(Querist) 19 June 2014 This query is : Resolved
Hi all,

My father and mother had purchased land of 4000 sqmts in Coimbatore. My father owns 2000 sqmts land and mother owned 2000 sqmts of land.
Now since my mother is no more, the joint owners of my mother's property are my father, myself and my sister.

Now my father and I am interested in transferring the entire property (my fathers' share and mothers' share) to my sister.

I would like to understand

- can we (my father and myself) execute a release deed for changing the property to my sister's name

- can we (my father and myself) gift it to her.

Can I get some approx. cost in case of each transaction

regards

sharda

You can choose either of the two. Both are good choices.

Thanks a lot for your prompt response. But what is the procedure.
We had got in touch with local lawyer and he is told us we will have to put up two agreements for each land of mother and father, which will cost us close to 42500 for each land, including his fees. Which is actually surprising to me.

So I request you to share the procedure for the release deed or the gift deed and the approx. fees. I am also searching a local lawyer to handle this.

Regards
Sharda

Stamp duty is as per state law and differs from state to state, you have to pay it.

May negotiate with some other lawyer for fees.

yes, check the stamp duty and lawyers fees which differ from lawyer to lawyer.
