Name change in gazette

Dear Sir,

My name is Vignesh.I am planning to change my name as Vigneshwar due to numerological reasons. Numerologist suggested me to change my name as early as possible to get the positive vibes. I read in some forum that the name change procedure in gazette takes around 45 days. I am going to USA in the month of august for higher studies. For that, I may have to start the processes like Visa,flight booking,Immigration, etc in the last week of may. Please let me know if I can start my name change process now and use the old name for the aforementioned processes till the name gets changed in gazette? If yes, then please guide me on how to get the name changed in other docs before flying to USA. In a nutshell, I am planning to change my name in all the documents without any hassles and before going abroad. Is it feasible? Any suggestions will be of great help . Thanks in advance

As per Rules, you could not get soon, the gazette notification will take some time, same time you could not change your name in your old record, but your can put new record in new name.

continue with your old name for present to avoid problems for going abroad . since you want to start process of visa etc in may itself it makes no sense in changing your name now .

You needn't get your documents changed.Just enclosing a Gazatte copy will do.If u r in tamilnadu visit the Government press at chennai to get the name change published in the next issue.

Thanks for your inputs. I would like to know the approx. time duration to complete the name change procedure in tamilnadu gazette. Is it 45 working days?
