Hi,
I need your kind guidance to clarify a question I have and I think it's the best forum to address the same.
A tenant rental agreement is usually supervised by a Lawyer and the Lawyer charges some consultation fee for the same either from flat owner or from tenant. Is it not mandatory for the Lawyer in India to put his details like his signature, registration number, stamp etc on the agreement paper?
If the details are not provided in the agreement paper where is the proof that the agreement was administered by the said lawyer?
I need the answer bit urgent and will really appreciate if you can response me back today.
Thanks in advance for all your kind consideration and guidance.
Regards,
Arun

Lawyer is not needed for any agreement.
What is the actual problem?

Hi Mr. Shonee,
Actually I rented out my flat and got my tenancy agreement done by a lawyer. I myself prepared the agreement but wanted a lawyer to review and approve. The lawyer took consultation and got the agreement printed on stamp paper but didn’t publish his details like registration number, stamp etc on the agreement.
It might not be necessary but my point is when I’m getting a paid service why the service provider (here lawyer) is denying of putting his professional details on the agreement.
Thanks,
Arun

The lawyer may be in the knowledge of some drawbacks in the agreement or would have charged his fee merely for consultancy and getting that typed on the paper.

Yes Sir you are right.
But still my questions will be -
If he was aware of some drawbacks in the agreement he should not have done it or told it upfront that he can get the stamp paper print out but won't put his details.
If his paln was to do consultancy only then also he should have given me a money receipt or put his details in the paper.
He cannot deny me my consumer's right after taking the fee from me.
I'm not at all bother with the fee but don't think it's a practice to be followed in profession. If you do something you have to own it.
Can I raise it to any forum like state bar council or consumer court? I need it for the sake of professionalism.
Thanks,
Arun
