Sir I am residing in Changanacherry, Kerala. The house opposite ours has a very troublesome dog. It starts howling around 3 to 4 times a day and won't stop unless it gets its way. It may want to be let free from its cage or it may want food. The thing is the owners wont respond to this for at least half an hour to 45mins. So we have to suffer the noise for that long. Also the dog barks at anything that moves outside the house, if an ordinary passerby crosses the home on the public road, it barks. If some other strays come by it barks. It is very loud and very troublesome. Whatever activity we are doing come to a standstill because of this dog. It has become the bane of my existence. My sleep is also disturbed on some days. The dog has decided for itself certain times when it needs to be out and when it needs to be in the cage and the "owners" have to dance according to its tune. Another thing, the owners sometimes lock this dog up (during the time it has decided it should be outside) and they go on some trip to some shop or so and for that half hour or hour or however long we have to suffer this dogs antics. Sir, I have no idea what to do. We have repeatedly told these people but they just don't care. They are very cool about it. Is there some legal procedure for me to make them control their dog? You must know something, the owner's brother is also a lawyer and he is also a neighbor living right next door. Please help. Thank You

Yes , there is avery efficacious remedy against such nuisance.
File a petition u/s 133 of CRPC before the competent Magistrate whereby the Magistrate would pass immediate order restraining the dog and ask the Police to give a report.

Experts have shown you the way.
But I would say that you cannot stop a dog from barking. They are meant to bark.

Section 133 of criminal procedure code is the best remedy in such matters so invoke it.

People come to experts for their problems, the least an "expert" can do is try and be a little empathetic.

Good if you can catch the advise then invoke 133 Cr.P.C.
