This query is : Resolved
If a fixed news paper allowance is given in salary and duly mentioned in Salary Slip. Whether it is taxable or exempt. If taxable then can it be treated as exempt by furnishing bills of Newspapers and magzines.

@Vishal Sir,
Rule 2BB.2 Under sub-clause (i) of clause (14) of section 10, any prescribed special allowance or benefit, other than those in the nature of a perquisite, specifically granted to meet expenses wholly, necessarily and exclusively incurred in the performance of the duties of an office or employment of profit, is exempt to the extent to which such expenses are actually incurred for that purpose
please clarify, now taxable nor not?
Thanks
with Regards,

I agree with Mr. A V Vishal!Mr.Shah it is a repeated query and in your previous post you stated it non taxable then i asked you the provision.If this is the provision then I hold the view that it does not apply to facts of the query.
