Q1: From where does a newspaper get registration (RNI) number? Which is the authority that issues such registration number?
Q2: A tabloid is not registered. But it carries a false RNI number. It also carries a false address. What legal action can be taken against such a tabloid?

Well the querry is in two parts, part one could be academic but second part legal.
One can file complaint of misuse of registraion particulrs to Registrar of News papers of the State, which is competent authority to register a news paper or to Press Council of India which is regulatory authority.
