Nomination

(Querist) 30 March 2014 This query is : Resolved
Hi!!, I as the secretary of a co.op. Housing Society, have a following querry.

Sir, I would like to know if there is nomination dt 28/12/2010 and submit to the society on 6/3/2014 when the owner is alive, and the flat owner died on 13/3/2014. I would like to know if it is valid, as we have taken it in the meeting for approval on 28/3/2014, though we, 3 committee members took it for approval on 6/3/2014.

If the deceased has made nomination prior to his death and has submitted to the society, which was duly acknowledged by the society, the nomination is valid. The meeting for approval by the members of society is just a formality of administrative procedure to be followed in this respect to ratify such issues. Therefore the nomination made by the deceased before his death is legally valid and serves the purpose of nomination.
