non payment of salary

Dear sir,
Pl advise, can a company hold the salary of employee whose contact is expired but asked to work continue.

terms of your contract are sacrosanct. company cannot withold your salary

To have a hold on the company ensure permission accorded to work inspite of expiry of contract is given in paper

If the company asks u to continue to work after expiry of the contract, it would be deemed to have continued u in service on the same terms and conditions as contained in the contract and will be bound to pay the same salary and allowances as specified in the contract. If the continuation is for a long period better to get a formal letter from the Company renewing the contract with the same or revised terms and conditions.
