I am of the view that Rs10 non judicial notarized stamp paper is required to deactivate a PAN.

The Reason is one of my Relative has its PAN Deactivated by the department.and I was just finding the solution.for the same so I referred taxguru.in there I found an article on PAN deactivation which states that in the case of PAN deactivation you have to Give application to your AO with Indemnity Bond,copy of adhaar card, copy of PAN for reactivation of the same.That's why I raised query regarding Indemnity Bond.

Perhaps, a better option is to take up the issue with 'taxguru'.
