Hi,

One of my friend has applied for a work permit to work in other country long ago, but he withdrew due to personal reasons through a consultancy situated in New Delhi. That consultancy took his original passport and did not return it back, even after his request. It is almost 2 years from now.

He even approached Police Dept for the same, but they told him to complaint it in New Delhi.

Please advise

Serve a legal notice and then either file a criminal case or a civil suit or both.

Agree with the experts. After filing case you may start process for issue of duplicate passport if the firm confirms that the passport has been lost.
