Dear sir
I completed my education away from my home in march of this year.after returning home I applied for passport, I gave my house adress as permanent address and present address.later during police verification, d officer was very strick and he gave a adverse report and I got a scn frm passport office asking for explanation.wat am I supposed to give as explanation.police officer says to submit a letter frm college as proof of study, will it be sufficient?Do I need to attend personally r reply by post

Giving your house address as Permanent Address and Present Address is not at all wrong.

Doing studies away from home is not a crime. No such detail has been asked for in the Passport Application Form.

You say that you got a SCN from passport office and asking for explanation. Please first and foremost state what does the SCN says and what explanation that they want.

Without revealing the vital information if you ask for any suggestion / answer / views, nobody will be able to give you or even if anybody volunteers to give that may or may not serve your purpose.

Better you meet the concerned Pass Port Officer in Person with all Evidences and Proofs and Explain him the Real Facts he should be convinced Or he might ask you to submit an affidavit regarding the same.

in your reply you should mention that you had no intention to conceal information .

at time of application for passport you permanent and present address was Telengana only . since you had complete your studies and shifted back to your permanent address in March 2014 you had mentioned it as your permanent and current address . you were not aware of the rule that you had to stay atleast 1 year in present address before applying for passport .

it was done inadvertently and hence lenient view be taken and SCN dropped

Well advised by Mr.Ajay Sethi.
In the same reply you can state the correct address where you stayed in the relevant period and state there are no cases were pending and if necessary police inquiry can be conducted at that address.

You have been properly addressed by many experts and you may follow the suggestions rendered to solve the issue. A piece of advise that please maintain decency in the language and approach while posting queries in public portals like this, the last line of your last post is highly derogatory language, better mind your language.
