Passport application form

(Querist) 08 December 2015 This query is : Resolved
My father applied ten years back for passport at New Delhi through an agent by mistake the agent filed wrong date of birth, due to some reasons my father was unable to focus on it and the matter left without solution.

Now after ten years my father applied again for passport with his correct date of birth , but airport authority had his initial for also they said that the date of birth are not matching.

Now they are saying my father to file a case in court and get direction from court.

What to do.

What is the solution of the problem, under which provision the case would be file.

My brother is living at Australia, and all the other family members have passport.

Pls. guide

It is surprising how wrong date was recorded by passport office since they always take age proof document. It is mistake of the Passport Department.

Your second paragraph is not comprehensible as there seems some words missing or sentence error.

What happened at airport. Your father has new passport now? Is there different date of birth recorded.? How airport security came to know about old passport?

The Passport commissioner has full right to rectify mistake against affidavit and proper document for age proof.

Even though the agent has filed wrong date of birth in the application,on scrutiny by the passport officials, the mistake would have surfaced.
i feel an affidavit to that extent along with the correct date of birth certificate would be enough for rectification and I don't think a court order is necessary.

Apply to the passport authority for rectification of the error with all related proofs and documents. If any objection / instruction received follow.
