passport tatkal received but found case against me

India:
I got my passport re issued under tatkal scheme with post police verfication.
After getting passport when police verifiction was conducted, officer found a crimknal case pending against me since 4 years of which I was also unaware.
And now when I got to know the case (of which no proceeding from court has held till date), I have applied for short term permission.
Now the question is , permission which court usually gives is for 1 year and my passport which I got is valid till 10 years.....will I need to surrender this passport and get a freah 1 for 1year validity???
Please help me.

who will believe that accused (e3ven if out of custody) does not know the pending case.
You have put a gazetted officer (who attested your form) in trouble.

During pendency of criminal case against you neither passport can be renewed nor extention can be granted.

You have to abide by the instructions of the passport office.
Consult a local lawyer and try to get the case decided.

you will permission to travel abroad only for one year . you have to again make application to court for permission after expiry of one year . at the time when permission is granted seek clarifications from court as to whether fresh passport is to be issued or not

Re-issue of passport means, is it renewal or what and why was it re-issued through Tatkal system?, how do you say that you were unaware of pending criminal case against you? the criminal case involvement is not foregone issues so you should be knowing it but thought since it is matter of four years, nobody will come to know about it hence there was a casual approach to it (?),
The remedy for this will lie with the passport office to accept your affidavit stating reasons for non disclosure, if convincing.
