Wife has filed maintenance case u/s 125 crpc. In her examination-in-chief and during cross-examination she has given false evidence. Husband has evidence to prove that she has dishonestly made false claim in court and given false evidence. She has own house, but claimed in court that she is living in rental house to claim huge sum of money as maintenance.
How seriously perjury case is seen by court/judges (if filed u/s crpc.340 with strong evidence)??

Unfortunately in India the court does not take the issue of perjury too seriously. Any way in your case only because the wife states that she stays in a rented house though you have proof of ownership of her property is not sufficient to attract the provision of section 340.

Try your chance. File an application U/s 340 Cr.P.C.

to some extent I agree with Mr. Barman, but here in Punjab region I have observed that the courts have gone serious on this issue.
S.340 and S.182 are being resorted frequently now.

File an application u/s 340 with the documents in support and if the court do not proceed there is provision of appeal.
It will be sufficient harassment to opposite side.
