I had applied for regular posting in central university and qualified according the selection criteria. But they offered me contract appointment against same post can I file case against them.

1. Name the Central University.
2. What exactly was written in the advertisement and whether any right was kept with it by the University.?
3. What exactly have you been offered by the University under "Contract Appointment"?

University may not allow you to join under protest.
You can represent in humble wordsafter joining.

Dear Mr. Kumar AS all rights to fill or not fill or cancel the recruitment lies with university.but changing the nature of post is no where mentioned in instructions.
They offered me contract appointment and consolidated salary 30375 for six months or till the post is filled up on regular post.

I am also planning to give. My representation to keep my rights of regular appointment as attachment with joining. A file a writ in the meantime.

Still you have not confirmed that the ad for post was for permanent posting and not for contract basis.
Have any posting given on permanent basis for selected candidates in your batch, if so whether appointment offered to candidates equal to advertised nos.?
You may give representation.
Discuss with local service law expert lawyer and may approach court for a stay on recruitment process, without consuming previous selected list selected for permanent appointment basis.

As already observed by Mr.Goyal, in his last post also;

You have just posted:

Although it hints still if you confirm it shall be better.

As the pay of scale makes it permanent
It was cadre recruitment all other 39 kind of post were filled on regular basis under this recruitment process.

nothing useful can be advised if information is not with clean hands and given in diplomatic way.
Does any rule exist that pay of scale makes it permanent?
Is there any restriction / service rule that department can not advertise for contract posting on full pay.
The post would not qualify for permanent posting till advertised for the same.

Selection criteria is also there
I had results of that I qualified the test 1 and 2 and marks of the 3rd test is still hidden
Merit not disclosed
But offer of appointment is given on consolidate pay till the post is filled up on regular basis.
