Sir i have a query , what is the meaning of police verification in state govt job.I got selected in uttar pardesh state against a reserved category post,my birth place is in greater noida uttar pardesh,i had all the documents like domicile,identity proff and caste certificate belongs to uttar pardesh state.The reason for posting this query is that i currently lives in delhi past 3 years although my ancestral home in U.P . belong to my father and no one lives there. As i got job in UP against reserved post, does that means my enquiry can only be done from Uttar pardesh ,can't i ask police verification in delhi my present address. if i asked for police verification in delhi is there any harm come to my job or i have to face consequence ? Please reply as soon as possible

How did you know that police verification is being made in connection with your selection for a post in UP?
Also, whether you got intimation of your selection at UP address or Delhi address?

As we know when someone get selected in any govt job there is procedure for document verfication & one of the document named personal data we have to fill 2 people's detail of neighbourhood for police verification? I recieved my appointment letter at my delhi adress because i mention it as correspondace address

You might have submitted caste certificate.
The verification shall be accordingly.

Police verification restricts like a character certificate means general antecedents like your involvement in crime etc which can be verified from the place wherein you are residing since a long and accordingly Delhi is the proper place .

Mr. Ravi,

Further, if you believe that the community members are unaware of the process of police verification, your asking of the question from them was not justified on any gound.
About your question, the police verification will be with reference to the information and your addresses you filled in the prescribed form. That can not only be from those two persons, whose name you provided, but also from some other neighbours residing near your addresses,whatever you have provided in the form. Besides, the police is to check your character and antecedents from their own records, if involved in any criminal offence.

Sir what i am asking is can i opt for delhi address for police verification ?i was preparing for engineering services in delhi past 3 years and lived there but i had all other necessary documents to claim as resident of U.P. Sir please guide me what should i do?

Once you fill in and send the form to the employer, you are left with no option. Police is not bound by your discretion or request.

Police has various sources to get the mere go. The verification is to be conducted by police so leave this job upon them to do.
