Power of attorney

(Querist) 22 August 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear Experts,

I am seeing a Power of Attorney in which the date of resolution of granting POA is September 14 and the effective date of POA is June 30 and also it says that subscribes our hand this June 30. Is it a correct POA? Can we state in the POA that it is granted in SEPTEMBER and it is effective from June.

Mme,
A Power of attorney can be scribed on any date. But it comes into force only from and on the date of its registration.

True what are you seeing is generally not seen but ratifying acts and deeds done in past would not make the POA bad in law since grant of powers would be for future and ratification would be for acts and deeds already done in past.A principal in his authority can do so.
