(Querist) 10 December 2013 This query is : Resolved
i am drafting a power of attorney to add an authorised signatory in a sole proprietorship bank account . can i print the contents on ledger papers (green papers),front and back side and get the franking of the documents done or is it mandatory to print on stamp paper.
when should the documents be franked ,before signing of all parties or after signing
BAALASUBRAMANNYAMM (Expert) 10 December 2013
Generally Power of Attorney to be executed on a Rs,100/- Non-judicial stamp paper. If Non-judicial stamp papers are not available in the market/office, get the duly prepared paper for franking. Using of Leger Papers( Green Color Papers) are not mandatory, but you can use good quality of paper.
ajay sethi (Expert) 10 December 2013
you can get it franked . In mahrashtra you need Rs 500 stamp paper not Rs 100 for power of attorney
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 11 December 2013
Green or white paper, the matter should be typed neatly in any good quality paper, to be franked before the parties sign the deed.
V R SHROFF (Expert) 11 December 2013
Practice is to execute POA on Green Ledger Paper , on stamp paper of Rs. 100 or 500 depending on the purpose.

Print the POA on ledger paper on one side and get it franked with duty applicable in ur state. Typing the document only on embossed stamp paper is not mandatory.
ajay sethi (Expert) 12 December 2013
did not realise it was a repeated query
Advocate Ravinder (Expert) 14 December 2013
I agree with the above experts. Alternatively you can sign on the printed formats (forms) available in the Bank or financial institutions for this purpose. It is cheaper and easy.
