Power of register supreme court

(Querist) 07 July 2014 This query is : Resolved
The bail application of my client was applied in Honl Supreme Court which condoned the delay by the Honl HC of Allahabad in rejecting the bail.It asked the HC to convey the reason behind delay. The application of my client was pending to be heard on 29th June 2014.But before hearing the registrar of honl Supreme Court gave new date saying that document lacking for respondent and he wants 8 weeks for filing the same! Does the registrar of the Supreme Court have the power to give a new date before the Honl Judge has heard the explanation asked from the HC?
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 07 July 2014
Registrar has to work under the direction of the concerned Court and thus he has no ndependant power to adjourn the case especially when the same is already been heard by Hon;ble Court. It seems that he might have adjourned on the verbal direction of the concerned court.
Sanjeev Hota (Querist) 08 July 2014
It is not apparent that there has been any direction from the concerned court. Is it possible for the registrar to give suo motto directions?

Dr J C Vashista (Expert) 08 July 2014
1. Besides Sunday on 29th June 2014, Supreme Court was closed for summer vacation till next day i.e., 30th June 2014, isn't it?
2. How does it affect the admission of Bail application to be supported by condonation of delay in filing it ? There is no statutory limitation in filing bail application.
3. Registrar is to take up miscellenous procedural work and complete proceedings before being put before the Court.
4. Consult Mr. Anirudh, an expert there itself, if you want some help/assistance or his service.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 08 July 2014
