Is SDM legally authorised to pass a decree on maintenance issues ( maintenance from husband to wife ). Judgement passed to defence unit.

SDM has no such power but SDJM has definitely power. Ensure the designation.

Yes! Right!Such a jurisdiction is vested in

Judicial Magistrates and not in Sub Divisional Magistrates.
