Sir, I want to preserve my important documents such as some registered sale deeds, some other agreements on stamp papers notorised etc. I can think of scanning them and keeping them in electronic format. I want to know whether such scanned documents serve same purpose as original? Or by what means I should safely preserve them to be equally authentic legally ?

the scanned documents can not be treated as originals. it is better to keep them in electronic format because, their CTC can be obtained in case of loss/destruction etc

The CTC here Should be Certified True Copies.

Thanks Sir. Just let me know how papers or agreements can be best kept to keep them intact. Such as NY particular file/envelope etc.

According to your own "anubhav", what would be your feelings if your parents, wife, friends, relatives or your employer treat your duplicate as a real you and discard you as a waste?
