I WANT TO KNOW WHEN PROFESSIONAL TAX IS APPLICABLE
WHO NEEDS TO GET REGISTERED FOR PROFESSIONAL TAX
AND
WHAT IS THE METHOD TO GET REGISTERED

in every state, local (state) govt. formed rules regarding Professional Tax. But the PT amount can't exceeds the limit which is Rs. 2500/- in any state or territory of India.
Every employer who is giving salary above the prescribed limit (limits as prescribed in local PT act) has to register himself & every business person/ professionals(including medical, legal, CA, CS & CWA's) has to register themselves with the PT authority generally Sales tax department.
Method is simple you have to furnish the required info along with the application form to Sales/VAT tax Authority.
