Please someone tell me the procedure of updating the name of the owner of the property to his legal heir after the owner's death on the property card.
Note: The property is located in thane.

Sir,

You have to approach a court of law for the probate if there is a Will, alternatively you have to request the court for Letter of Administration.

You have to include all the beneficiaries of the deceased person for Letter of Administration.

Your name can be legally included on the property card only after the above procedure is followed, and a court sanction is obtained.

Hello Sir,
I am told that the probate is not compulsory for the property located in Thane (the same is compulsory in Mumbai). I am told to approach Tahsildar.
