i have submitted my pf claim to the pf office mumbai i.e. malad kandivali with the requisite forms & documents on 30-12-2010 but after enquiry the office shows the status that my claim is still in progress
what is the legal remedy available to settle my claim as earliest as possible because i am very dire need of my savings now. kindly guide me. thanks for your support!

One year delay. Please see if anyone is delaying the claim expecting you to contact for a bribe. If yes the contact local CBI office immediately without annoying the person.

Yes but if it does not make much progress then Writ would be the remedy to get releifs.

PF claims are passed within one month of due submission of form correct in all respect. As this is highly delay, you personally enquire as if form may not be lost

Though as per provisions, claims are to be settled with in 30 days if found in order, however, because of heavy pendency in almost all the offices, specially in Mumbai, Kolkatta and Delhi offices, it is learnt that it takes months together to settle the claims , therefore the remedy available is either to get the grievances redressed through Head Office of EPFO ,ITS WEBSITE, OR BY LEGAL course by filing complaint in the concerned Distt. Consumer Redressal Forum, wherein cases are finalised within 3 months normally.
