Good Evening learned members.
First i would like to wish all the members a happy and blessed Diwali.......god bless with happiness of lights and sweets of success:)
Now learned members,i am interested to become a Public Prosecutor but not finding much information regarding this.......I am practicing criminal lawyer since 3 years.
So which exams i need to give to opt this post of P.P, IS Thr any age bar or ATTEMPTS v give for this exams is limited.
Any other information, please specify.

as far as PP is concerned, every state has its own procedure, even though there have been permanent posts of PP but the states prefer to make appointments on temporary basis/ contract basis....and these things are largely governed by political considerations.
the Advocate General's office at High Court level is entirely under political influence.

Recent job notification for the position of Assistant Public Prosecutor:
Recently, job notification for the position of Assistant Public Prosecutor was issued by the following government organizations:
• Orissa Public Service Commission
• Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission
• Union Public Service Commission
• Maharashtra Public Service Commission
Educational Qualification needed to apply for the position of Assistant Public Prosecutor:
For applying to the position of Assistant Public Prosecutor, candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s degree in law from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission.
Other qualification requirements:
For applying to the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor, candidates must possess a minimum of five years experience of practicing as an advocate. Candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 35 years of age to apply for the position of Assistant Public Prosecutor.
Selection process:
Candidates are selected for the position of Assistant Public Prosecutor based on their performance in the written examination, followed by interview.
What are the subjects covered in the written test?
Normally, written examination for the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor will include questions from criminal laws, procedural laws, general English and miscellaneous laws. For instance, as far as recruitment by TNPSC for the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor is concerned, the written examination is planned to be conducted in the month of July this year and the syllabus for this examination includes four papers with the following subjects:
• The Indian penal code
• The civil procedure code
• The Evidence Act
• The Criminal Procedure Code
• The Constitutional Law
• Torts
• Legal Aid
• Human Rights
• The central criminal Acts
• State Minor Acts
Scope of the position of Assistant Public Prosecutor:
This position has a very good scope for law graduates since after some years of their service in this position, candidates can be posted as Public Prosecutor in a particular district of the state and their pay scale will also increase as their position improves.
