Purchasing a sra flat after 10 years

I intend to purchase a SRA Flat which is over 10 years old. However I was told by the original owner that the transfer/registration of the Flat to their name will 2-3 months. What is he refering to? What transfer/registration takes place after 10 years of an SRA Flat? What documents & other things to consider before purchasing a SRA Flat?

please ask for inspection of original documents . the agreement for allotment of SRA flat , whether property taxes, society dues have been paid till date . if society is formed NOC of society . enter into agreement have it duly stamped and regsitered .

For any property, get all title deeds and allied documents from the seller.
Get the legal opinion from a local Lawyer.
Secondly, please explain what is meant by SRA Flat.

Please do not proceed with the purchase of the property without inspecting the original documents and taking an opinion from a lawyer, if you suspect something fishy, drop the idea of buying it.

All the original documents of title and related documents need to be seen and get the opinion of an advocate for title clearance.

real estate matters better go slow.track original title deed s,link documents,property tax payment receipts.,EC etc...show to an exp. civil lawyer ,take written opinion before proceed to purchase.also see if the flat is debt free.insist to see originals before you collect a xerox copy for your lawyer.
